Nature Trip to Deuri

Lhomon Education students, teachers, and Chokyi Gyatso Institute - Dewathang lopons went for a Nature Trip to Deuri, a beautiful river system flowing down the base of the Dewathang community. The program was to create opportunities for our students and teachers, to see the interdependent reality of coexistence, between humans, animals, the natural world, and the river system that is around us.

As a part of the program, we did a meditation along the riverbank, collected garbage as a Karma Yoga practice, and ate organic food that was consciously prepared. It was a meat and junk-free program. Through such activities, we wanted to encourage our students to take sustainable mindful actions to achieve greater goals of environmental conservation and to inculcate stewardship towards our nature.
Yes, we had fun swimming and playing in the river. It was one of our goals!
Be responsible to our mother nature!
